Pina Fiori was born in Marsciano, a small town of Italy. Vibrant colours, geometric patterns, and abstract figures have always fascinated Pina, who showed her passion for art since a young age. Pina expressed herself, and her emotions, not only through her paintings, but also with her drawings, collages, and sculptures. She worked as a theatrical costume designer and makeup artist, and used to run her own art shop.

Pina graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts of Macerata, and is currently teaching Art at the Artistic High School of Macerata, the town she lives in. During her career, Pina performed many solo and group exhibitions; her works are in national and international museums, and in private galleries.

Pina Fiori’s collages tell different stories. They were created using newspapers and magazines clippings, and a combination of different materials, such as fabrics and threads; pieces of metal; leafs of gold, silver, copper and zinc; wood and stones. These collages come directly from the artist’s soul, where emotions and memories live. In a too rational world, they represent inharmonious elements, full of fantasy and creativity, like ancient narratives in a modern world.

“A house on the water”, 2017. It shows today’s values, different from the old ones, as they are no longer hard as rocks, or soft as sand; they are constantly moving. They lost their foundations, and this allows them to change more quickly, following the movement.
