After the Falklands War of 1982 there have been given numerous
awards to people on the British side. In particular the senior officers
of the British armed forces were honoured with high-ranking medals
and titles. Only one man remained completely ignored: Brigadier Sir
Mathew John Anthony Wilson, OBE, MC.
Why the one-star general, who was honoured for his Northern
Ireland tours with the OBE and the MC in the 1970s, was denied
any awards for his time as commander of the 5th Infantry Brigade
in the Falklands War, will be clarified in this book.
