In times of increasing product complexity and shorter development cycles, efficient prototyping is becoming increasingly important, especially in industrial practice. Companies are faced with the challenge of realizing products quickly, cost-effectively, and in line with market requirements without compromising on quality and functionality. In this context, the use of optimized prototyping methods facilitates increased efficiency in product development.

This research paper presents a systematic methodology for improving prototyping processes in the field of technical product development, using the automotive, aviation, and motorsport industries as examples. Furthermore, based on theoretical analyses and industrial case studies, methods, tools, and test strategies are presented that support the entire development process from the concept phase to validation and make it measurable with the help of maturity models. The approach offers practical recommendations for research, development, and industrial application, thereby contributing to increased efficiency in prototype development.
