Sex as an area of life is always an issue in many different ways when working with people on a relational level. Without a sound knowledge of sex, social work and related professions can only act inadequately. From taboo to vociferous political staging, sex functions in many different ways. It is both private and public, trivial and political, customised and provocative. The experience of sex is as varied as the ways in which it affects people. This publication therefore offers basic information and guidelines on sex in all its specificities in order to actively plan and implement design processes when working with people.
